Jewelry maintenance questions
Does silver tarnish?
Yes, like most metals, silver tarnishes on contact with sulfur in the air. Sometimes soap, varnish and high PH skin can speed up the tarnishing process.
How can I clean my jewelry?
There are several methods for cleaning a silver, bronze or gold piece of jewelry.
You can rub the jewel with a polishing cloth, soak it in a solution designed for this purpose such as Hagert y cleaner (sold at the store). There is the home-made method of boiling water, aluminium foil and baking soda (many tutorials for this can be found on Youtube).
Also, you can try to degrease with very hot water and dish soap. You soak the jewel and then rub gently with a toothbrush.

How to prevent oxidation on jewelry?
It is true that wearing jewelry generally prevents oxidation because the jewelry is often in contact with the skin.
On the other hand, the interior of textures and chain links are always more likely to tarnish.
A practical technique is to put the jewel in an airtight bag. We offer and sell small 3M / aniti-tarnishing paper. Our jewelery boxes help to keep your jewelry shiny because they are PH neutral.
IMPORTANT, never store tarnished jewelry with un-tarnished jewelry. The tarnished pieces will contaminate the others and speec up their tarnishing.
